‘The Desert Provides’ is by far the most traditional painting of the ‘Echos of Tomorrow’ collection. It is painted using imagery based in Contemporary Australian Aboriginal storytelling.
‘The Desert Provides’ is a painting depicting three kinds of bush food.
These bush foods are Bush Potato, Bush Banana and red and black cooked Bush Bean.
The circular image in the center of the painting represents a meeting place in the desert close to where all of these nutritious bush foods can be found.
Colors reminiscent of the Australian desert regions arranged in a block-like sequence lend balance to the piece. In the same way ‘The Desert Provides’ offers balance to the ‘Echos of Tomorrow’ Collection as it leads us back to the place where my dreaming stories began.
