“Traces of Us in Them” unfolds across the artist’s hand-engineered fiberglass mesh, where pure Colombian pigments drift through veils of light. The portrait surfaces slowly, as if remembering itself. Soft blues, greens and violets merge with textured passages that catch the glow and release it in fragments, revealing a face that shifts between presence and disappearance. The mesh holds the image like a memory in suspension, its translucent grid letting details shimmer or dissolve as one moves around the work. Juan Carlos Callejas blends gesture and structure, instinct and discipline, shaping a figure that seems to breathe within the surface. What remains is a quiet intensity, an invitation to look long enough for recognition to emerge.
